Story by Editor-in-Chief Carolina Ogliaro
Vivienne Westwood marks the Lunar New Year 2026 with a dedicated capsule collection celebrating the Year of the Horse — a symbol of vitality, ambition, freedom, and forward momentum. Designed as an expression of progress and auspicious beginnings, the collection weaves equestrian imagery through jewelry, ready-to-wear, and accessories.
The jewelry line features a refined sculpted horse motif, translated across bold chain necklaces, bracelets, hoop and stud earrings, and pendants, offered in gold- or platinum-toned finishes. In ready-to-wear, the exclusive Horses and Orb heraldry reinterprets an archival House print developed specifically for the season: two rearing horses framing the iconic orb, brought to life through embroidery on jersey, screen prints on accessories, and appliqué on burgundy flocked knitwear, paired with Dominic Myatt’s Wonderland artwork. A dynamic rocking-horse print, available in two colorways, appears across classic jersey silhouettes.
Reflecting the audacious spirit of the new year, the capsule also includes a square silk scarf adorned with an equine motif in two vivid color combinations, alongside a red heart-shaped lighter finished with a gold-toned orb emblem. Completing the collection is a limited-edition unisex watch, featuring a textured dial inspired by Vivienne Westwood’s archives. The trompe-l’œil Hair Print, first introduced in the Spring/Summer 1991 Gold Label collection Cut, Slash & Pull, is reimagined to evoke the flowing mane of a horse. Finished with a custom logo and equestrian crest, the watch is available in silver with a cream dial or gold with a red dial, each stainless-steel case individually numbered.
The Lunar New Year 2026 capsule collection is available in Vivienne Westwood boutiques worldwide and on the official website.
