TOGA Fall/Winter 2025-2026: The Art of Unconventional Chic at London York Fashion Week

If there’s one brand that consistently defies expectations while maintaining an effortless cool, it’s TOGA. Yasuko Furuta’s Fall/Winter 2025-2026 collection, presented during London Fashion Week in the hallowed halls of the Royal Academy of Arts, was a masterclass in contrasts, where precision tailoring met fluid drapery, and traditional silhouettes were subverted with an offbeat, intellectual edge.  The result is a lineup that is both avant-garde and wearable.

The Power of Contrast

Furuta has always played with the unexpected, and this season was no different. Structured tailored blazers with sharp lines found balance against asymmetrical, flowing skirts. Oversized outerwear with sharp architectural lines softened when paired with delicate, sheer underlayers. The fusion of heavy wools with whisper-thin silks made for a striking visual dialogue, an interplay of power and vulnerability.

A Palette That Speaks Volumes

The color story was moody and refined, with deep midnight blues, stormy charcoals, and forest greens forming the foundation. Then came the bursts of energy, electric reds and greens again strategically placed to disrupt the quiet elegance. Luxe faux fur also made a statement, adding both opulence and ethical edge to the collection, proving that glamour and consciousness can go hand in hand. Whether lining oversized coats or appearing as a bold, exaggerated stole, the plush textures brought a sense of warmth and indulgence to the season’s sharp tailoring.

A Subversive Take on Tradition

While undeniably modern, the collection nodded to historical influences, reinterpreted through Furuta’s razor-sharp lens. High-necked Victorian-inspired blouses were paired with deconstructed, slouchy trousers. The traditional trench coat was reimagined with unexpected cut-outs and asymmetry. It was a brilliant dance between past and future, structure and spontaneity.

The TOGA Effect: Rewriting the Rules of Elegance

TOGA doesn’t follow trends but it sets them. Furuta’s ability to take classic elements and twist them into something fresh and thought-provoking is what makes the brand so cult-worthy. With this latest collection, TOGA once again cements its place at the forefront of fashion’s intellectual avant-garde, proving that true style isn’t about playing it safe but it’s about rewriting the rules.
