Most recently known for her role in the TV series “See Dad Run”, RYAN NEWMAN will be coming out in “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” as Claudia Sheperd, set to premiere July 22nd. Ryan is no stranger to style and can rock modern menswear. And yes, we totally vibe with it.
CM: Sharknado 3 premieres July 22nd on Syfy – can you tell us about your character Claudia Sheperd?
Ryan Newman: Claudia is Fin and April Shepard’s 18 year old daughter. She is at Universal Orlando to celebrate her birthday when the Sharknado hits. She proves herself to be a real Shepard and rise to the occasion to save the day.
CM: What was it like to have Tara Reid and Ian Ziering as your on-screen parents?
Ryan Newman: It was great! They were both super welcoming and fun to work with.
CM: Your real life boyfriend Jack Griffo is also in Sharknado and plays the role of Billy. What was that like? Did it make things easier or more challenging?
Ryan Newman: It was so much fun to work together again! Working with him wasn’t easier or harder, but definitely more fun!
CM: At any point of the production, were you ever around real sharks?
Ryan Newman: Unfortunately no. Just prop sharks and imaginary ones!
CM: What do you think of sharks in real life? Love or terrified?
Ryan Newman: I am fascinated by sharks but would never want to encounter one unexpectedly!
CM: Do you have other projects coming up this year?
Ryan Newman: I just wrapped an independent film and I am excited to see where it ends up!
